The oldest vineyard at Herdade do Rocim has always been affectionately called “Olho de Mocho”, as it is abundant in this spontaneous flower, scientific name Tolpis barbata. Because it was special, it could only give rise to a unique and authentic wine that we now call “Olho de Mocho Single Vineyard”.
GRAPE VARIETIES: Alicante Bouschet and Trincadeira. The orientation of the lines is East-West and the exposure of the varieties to the west.
TASTING NOTES: Deep, concentrated ruby color. Very ripe black fruit. Notes of tobacco, spices and mint. Elegant and structured mouth. Firm tannins, austerity and freshness. Long and persistent finish.
